Family Turkey Projects

We have just completed our first family project. We hope that it gave your families some time together. We will do a few other family projects throughout the year. The assignment was to take a template of a turkey and decorate it in some way. The turkeys turned out absolutely incredible! We thought that you might want to see what some of the other turkeys in our class looked like. Here are all 30 of them! You can tell by the kids' faces how proud they are of their work!

Enrichment centers- Animals

Here are a few pictures from our science unit on animals. We have enrichment activities that the students can work on to challenge their creativity, and they are it also related to our current science content.

Activity #1- Students were asked to make a collage of verterbrates on one side of a poster and a collage of invertebrates on the other. Analiese and Mattew gave this activity a try and did a great job with it.

Activity #2- Designer Animal- this was a popular one for the class- they were to design an animal that could live in the future.
Below are some close ups of Serena and Maxine's designer animals.

Activity #3- To create a poem or story about an animal. Casey, Marisa, and Dalton all participated in this activity.

Animal Adaptations

We started discussing animal adaptations today in science. The link below is the actual video that we watched. It is a camel rapping about adaptations and the kids LOVED it! They started singing the "chorus" so I had to capture it on video!
